Here are some of my favorite sites to find teaching material and activity ideas for my students:

For activities

An interesting site to consult for worksheets, flashcards and activities not only for children but also for older learners who need English for business or travel purposes. There are also different forums for English teachers.

A great site for teaching materials. Also great for Clip Arts and flashcards!

I discovered this website in my stage IV, through my cooperating teacher. All worksheets are created by an experienced and qualified teacher. Extraordinarily, all worksheets are FREE and are in PDF for easy access, the only request: "be sure to refer a friend to help keep them free!!!". I particularly like the homonym and wordsearches worksheets. THIS SITE IS A REAL GOLD MINE!!!!

This is a great site to help teachers make poetry fun for students as they provide tips for children to write poetry . Students can even submit their own poems for online publication. Teachers can also find poets they can invite to their schools. Moreover, the poems all have a funny twist to them.

edHelper

This is a great site, but unfortunately you have to be a member in order to have access to the majority of the material. However, there are some FREE activities in the "free worksheet" section which are fun to use in the classroom. Just type your topic (e.g. "verbs") in the search bar and you'll have access to other great free activities.

Teaching material

I think this site doesn't need any presentation as the majority of us already either consulted or purchased material from Scholastic. Nonetheless, it remains a great source for teaching and educative materials. Scholastic also offers many advantages, rebates and promotions when someone in your school has a membership.

Located in LĂ©vis, this is a great place to purchase pedagogical materials approved by the MELS. The books are a little bit expensive though (around $20 each), and often you have to buy the answer key separately (around $10). But ,if you properly make your selections, it could be easy to create a great bank of ressources for yourself. Most of all, once you have purchased the book, you don't have to worry about reproduction fees and all, as they are included in the price of purchase!

This is a site where we can easily purchase pedagogical material online. The prices are reasonable and the activities suggested are great and inventive. However, since these activities are designed for native speakers of English, ESL teachers often  have to readjust and adapt them for the L2 levels.

This store is not only great, but it is also located in Quebec City, on Pierre-Bertrand. It offers a lot of useful school furniture for teachers (stickers, posters of all kinds, tickets, and much more). It is a MUST !
